While one of the most common goals is to identify configurations that would negatively affect wireless network performance, there are a number of conclusions that emerge quite frequently. These results may include:
Identifying access points that are being deployed
for the wrong purpose: For example, during a recent survey of wireless sites, a
company used the wrong AP models in many places on its premises. Because these
APs used omnidirectional antennas and the APs were installed on 20-30 foot
ceilings, the devices used at ground level ended up with very low signal
levels.
